Scorpio Rising is the thirty-first episode of the Mighty Max Animated Series. The episode features a story by Gordon Bressack and teleplay by Richard Mueller and originally aired November 21, 1994.
Synopsis[]
An unstable scientist hidden away in a nuclear bunker stirs up trouble in the Nevada desert, prompting the Mighty One and the gang to investigate.
Plot[]
Strange radiation readings in the desert outside of Las Vegas, Nevada bring Max and company to the area. In underground caverns nearby, they find a crazed nuclear scientist who plans to use giant mutated scorpions and his own natural immunity to radiation as a means to take revenge on those who caused his condition. He believes that the world itself needs to be cleansed by "pure, beautiful" radiation.
Epilogue[]
"Hi! Scorpions are pretty cool little bugs. They're actually really shy creatures that will usually run away from humans. Lucky for us, because there are several deadly breeds of scorpions, but that doesn't mean they're bad. They're actually great mothers. A momma scorpion will give birth to live babies and carry them around on her back for weeks. Oof boy, that's a face only a mother could love. See ya!"
